Background: Stroke is the leading cause of adult death in China and worldwide, characterized by high morbidity, disability, mortality, recurrence economic burden, often to various functional impairments, such as motor impairment, sensory swallowing consciousness impairment cognitive impairment. Therefore, finding effective intervention methods currently a hot difficult issue stroke rehabilitation treatment. Vagus nerve stimulation, classical neuromodulation technique, has been widely certified for its safety effectiveness. In recent years, several studies at home abroad have reported that VNS can be used potential treatment improve after stroke. Objective: this paper, clinical application vagus stimulation different dysfunctions discussed context relevant abroad, effectiveness, possible mechanisms action are reviewed, aiming provide new therapeutic ideas rehabilitation. Conclusion: Vagus help patients' survivability quality life. expected therapy play an important role post-stroke dysfunction.
